As a Hardware Systems Engineer, you will collaborate with various engineering teams to design, qualify, and maintain Cloudflare’s fleet of servers, ensuring smooth operation for 20% of the world's internet traffic. This role involves making critical infrastructure choices and optimizing server hardware for peak performance.
Technical Requirements
Required Skills
- • Compute design engineering

Experience Level
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science with extensive experience in the field.
Responsibilities
- • Gather product requirements for next generation servers
- • Assess performance and select components with silicon vendors
- • Specify, design and determine key performance indicators for servers
- • Qualify server hardware across EVT/DVT/PVT phases
- • Onboard and integrate new servers into provisioning and fleet management tools
- • Collaborate with performance and software teams to optimize performance
- • Deploy firmware updates and maintain automation tools
- • Communicate results and updates through blog posts and internal talks
