Job Overview
dbt Labs is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer specializing in storage services to develop a seamless and reliable platform for dbt Cloud across AWS, Azure, and GCP. The ideal candidate will play a key role in refining and scaling the storage platform, focusing on automation and improving developer velocity while collaborating across teams to solve infrastructure challenges.
Technical Requirements
Required Skills
- • significant experience designing and operating relational data and object storage platforms in production
- • programming/scripting ability in Python, Go, Rust or Bash
- • hands-on experience with one or more cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- • declarative Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
Preferred Skills
- • experience building or running multi-tenant storage platforms at scale
- • deep expertise in PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ
Experience Level
Senior level with significant hands-on experience
Responsibilities
- • Design, operate, and scale storage based infrastructure systems across multiple tenancy models and public clouds
- • Deepen team expertise in relational databases, search, caching, queuing, and streaming
- • Partner with multiple teams to provide a seamless platform for application teams
- • Leverage tools and languages such as Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, Argo CD, Python, SQL, Go, Bash, and Datadog
- • Participate in a balanced on-call rotation to improve reliability and reduce operational toil
