Job Overview

As a Data Analyst & Engineer at Octopus Energy, you will be a driving force in generating valuable business insights from our data and automating recurring processes. Your main focus will be on extracting, processing, and communicating insights from our business and smart meter data, as well as identifying and implementing automation potentials to significantly improve our products and processes, enabling data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

• • Analyze smart meter and business data, identify patterns, and derive actionable recommendations
• • Support the metering team through data-driven process analyses and identify optimization potentials
• • Prepare insights in a target group-oriented manner, such as dashboards, presentations, or interactive apps
• • Help business users understand data and make informed decisions
• • Develop, automate, and monitor data pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow
• • Model data with dbt and ensure clean structures in our data lake and warehouse
• • Continuously improve data availability and quality
• • Identify manual, recurring tasks and develop automation solutions using Python and RPA tools
• • Develop, implement, and operate RPA bots to enhance data-driven processes
• • Collaborate closely with departments to understand their requirements and develop pragmatic solutions
