Job Overview
Egnyte is seeking a talented Database Engineer to join their Database Platform team, which provides customers with 24/7 access to their data through a secure multi-cloud platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, scaling, and administering large fleets of MySQL servers while ensuring performance, scalability, and high availability. The role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and optimizing database performance, as well as mentoring team members.
Technical Requirements
Required Skills
- • MySQL (8.0+)
- • Performance and scalability issues with MySQL
- • Automation experience with Python
- • SQL scripting
- • Linux-based systems administration
- • Configuration management (Puppet/Ansible)

- • Redis

- • Cloud providers (Google Cloud, Azure)
Experience Level
4+ Years of relevant industry work experience
Responsibilities
- • Build, scale, and administer a large fleet of MySQL servers
- • Monitor and troubleshoot critical performance bottlenecks for MySQL databases
- • Review and assess the impact of database schema design and topology changes
- • Ensure databases are secured, maintained, backed up, and highly available
- • Review stress testing results and provide recommendations to development teams
- • Automate anomaly detection for databases with failures and other issues
- • Automate management tasks and streamline processes
