Job Overview

Octopus Energy is seeking an Energy Markets Engineer to join their team in Houston, where they will support the OEUS Risk and Trading team on technical tasks such as data engineering, model development, and building out the commercial data platform. The engineer will collaborate closely with traders, analysts, and global data and engineering teams to enhance the company's innovative energy solutions.

Technical Requirements

Responsibilities

• • Developing and maintaining commercial data pipelines and tools
• • Daily support of risk and trading model development utilizing data engineering and optimization
• • Creation and automation of risk workflows and processes
• • Collaborating with global data and engineering teams to build out reporting pipelines
• • Standardizing data feeds for quick analysis and maintaining analyst views
• • Monitoring and developing reporting on overnight jobs for trading day
• • Designing and implementing portfolio monitoring and market fundamental forecasting processes
• • Communicating technical knowledge across a wide range of stakeholders
• • Development of market data pipelines and time series analysis data engineering infrastructure
