Octopus Energy is seeking an Analytics Manager for its Credit Risk team in London. This role is vital as the energy sector faces unprecedented volatility, and the team plays a crucial role in supporting customers struggling with payments. The successful candidate will lead a small team of analysts, manage customer relationships, and leverage data analytics to derive insights that inform decision-making and improve strategies for fraud prevention and customer engagement.
Technical Requirements
Required Skills
- • Excellent SQL skills
- • Python data science stack (pandas, NumPy, Jupyter notebooks, Plotly/matplotlib)
Preferred Skills
- • Familiarity with Git
- • Data visualization tool (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI or equivalent)
- • DBT
Experience Level
2-5 years experience in consumer credit risk or collections in the financial services, utilities or telecommunications industries
Responsibilities
- • Manage a small team of analysts
- • Take ownership of management of customers struggling with payments
- • Conduct deep dive investigations into data for decision making
- • Develop reporting suite through the latest BI tools and technology stack
- • Create strategies to identify and prevent first party and third party fraud
- • Develop machine learning models and policies that drive decisions
- • Identify new areas of opportunity
- • Challenge the status quo in terms of KPIs, objectives & strategy
- • Communicate complex data concepts effectively
- • Build relationships with Data Science, Technology, Finance, Collections, Ops, and other stakeholders
